Nutella has been around for over 60 years, and now there's finally a new flavor: Nutella Peanut, currently only available in the US. I had a jar specially imported to test it out for you guys - and the import was definitely worth it for the content.

The design stays classic: the familiar golden Nutella label, just topped off with some peanut branding. For the first test, straight off the knife: a seriously awesome peanut butter flavor that dominates right away, with a chocolatey note in the background and that classic nutty Nutella flavor subtly humming along. Really tasty and surprisingly balanced.

The ingredient list is honestly a statement in itself: peanuts, almonds, peanut butter flavoring, cocoa, hazelnut, lecithin, salt, vanillin, and artificial flavor. Definitely not healthy, but that's not really the point here anyway.

The real test happens on a sandwich: a generous spread of Nutella Peanut on bread, plus a bit of butter. The result is seriously cool and delicious - creamy, sweet, nutty, with that unmistakable peanut kick that gives the original its own clear twist. I'd almost go as far as saying I might actually prefer the peanut version over regular Nutella.

According to the receipt, the import for the small jar including shipping cost a hefty 27.50 francs - definitely not a bargain for a jar of Nutella, but for a one-time test it was totally worth it. My verdict: if you're into peanut butter and Nutella, you absolutely need to try this once it's regularly available in Switzerland. What should I test next?
